TRASHOLUTION

Trasholution is our waste challenge with added social value. Separating festival waste and disposing of it correctly not only helps the environment, but also supports important projects in the region.

Here's how it works:

Collect your waste separately in the bin bags provided and hand it in at the recycling islands or directly to the waste collection service. For every full bin bag handed in, we donate €1 to social projects in the festival region. If you hand in a bin bag with sorted packaging waste, we will double the donation - €2 will go to a good cause! The more carefully you sort, the more can be recycled and the greater the joint impact. The donations collected will be distributed evenly among the projects so that everyone benefits from your contribution and receives the support they need.

And the best thing is: if you hand in your waste, you have the chance to win festival tickets for next year! Simply scan the QR code at the recycling islands or at the garbage collection point after you have dropped off your bag - you will also find all further information about the campaign there.

These are this year's donation projects:

Ochs und Esel - 2500€

The iconic wooden sculpture “Ox & Donkey” was a popular play and meeting place for children in Großpösna for over three decades. It had to be closed in April 2024 due to safety issues. Now the municipality, together with former and current children, is planning to create a new edition of the play artwork.

The donations collected will go directly towards the realization of the new sculpture made of solid wood, which is to be created with the active participation of children and young people - also as an opportunity to learn about skilled trades and creative design. The project will be complemented by seating and a memorial plaque to keep the history and significance of this special place alive for future generations. The aim is to revive an intergenerational, creative and safe meeting place in the heart of the community.

Queeres Zentrum Mühlhausen - 2000€

The Queer Center Mühlhausen has been active as a voluntary, queer and anti-fascist youth group since summer 2023. With projects such as workshops, regular meetings and the organization of the first CSD in Mühlhausen, the group campaigns for acceptance, diversity and against right-wing hate speech. Through local and nationwide networking - including with Elly Hatespeech, QueerWeg e.V. and regional youth alliances - the initiative creates important spaces of protection and encounter for queer young people in an increasingly polarized region.

Despite hostility and threats, the group continues to engage visibly in public spaces - and needs support to do so. The donations will be used to implement the first CSD in Mühlhausen and to establish a separate association in order to build and strengthen queer structures in northern Thuringia in the long term.

Miteinander FED e.V. - 2500€

The parents' initiative FED Leipzig e.V. has been supporting people with disabilities and their families for 30 years. As part of their leisure activities “FEDfreizeit”, the band “FehlerFrei”, consisting of people with disabilities, meets once a week to make music together. The band currently wants to create a music video for their self-composed song to make inclusion and participation visible through music. The song is to be rearranged and recorded in collaboration with a Leipzig band, followed by the production of a professional music video.

The donations will go towards the production of the music video, which will celebrate its world premiere in November 2025 at the socio-cultural center “Anker” in Leipzig. The aim of the project is to make inclusion tangible and give people with disabilities more visibility in the cultural scene.

Weltoffen e.V. - 2500€

WeltOffen e.V. is an organization with a migrant background that is committed to diversity, participation and open-minded coexistence through intercultural educational work and a unique multilingual library in Leipzig. The association regularly reaches children, families and educational institutions with numerous events and projects - often involving people with a migration background. The funding requested is intended to help the association continue to offer intercultural family events free of charge. These combine creative, sustainable offers with cultural diversity and enable encounters and exchanges for people of different backgrounds in an open, appreciative setting.

The donations will be used to realize further free family events such as craft activities, multilingual readings and theater performances for people from different backgrounds.
